It is hard to imagine a time when Israelites will not need to arm themselves, or protect themselves against their enemies.  They will live in complete peace, having no enemies; no one will oppress them during the Millennium.  They will be “taught of God.”   In I Thess. 4:9 these same words are translated as an adjective:  God-taught.  Their knowledge of God will be face-to-face, personal knowledge. They will not need human teachers to know Who God is.

Israel will be established in righteousness.  They will experience and act out the love of God, and that is why there will be peace. Col.3:14-15 tells us that love is the bond of perfectness, or maturity in the Lord; and when we love, we let the peace of God rule in our hearts.
