Utter Destruction

Isaiah 13:15-16. “Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword. Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes: Their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.”

The destruction of Babylon in the Day of the Lord will be complete, horrible, and irreversible. It is hard for us to imagine this kind of destruction, in which anyone who is found alive will be killed, including women and children.

I am reminded of something my pastor said often, and which I’ve shared with you before:  Sin will always take you farther than you intended to go, and the end results will be more terrible than you can imagine.

Disobedience to God, mockery of Him, is the end result of continuous sin. It’s no laughing matter.
