With Good Will

Ephesians 6:7-8. “With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.”

Here’s a wonderful promise:  When we serve our masters (the authorities in our lives, whoever they may be) with an attitude of doing it as unto the Lord, then the Lord will reward us for that attitude.

That attitude of good will cannot be forced upon us. It has to come from within, out of obedience and love for God. No one will have a good attitude simply because someone told him to. It’s a choice we make, often based on what we see in other believers. Mostly, though, it comes through being in the Word, through having a grateful heart for what God has done for us, and through the filling of the Spirit that comes with obedience to Christ.

  1. Ah, yes! Read the Word of God. No other book can absorb into our spirits better than the Word of God. It is such a simple solution for daily living–yet it seems such a difficult habit for many Christians to achieve.
