Ephesians 5:27. “That He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing: but that it should be holy and without blemish.”
Just as Jesus, through His shed blood and resurrection, has redeemed each person who comes to Him in faith for forgiveness and salvation, so He has redeemed His bride, the church, that in all the ages to come He will present to Himself in purity, without blame, without “spot or wrinkle.” The concept of purity has been lost to much of our society, and that is a sad state of affairs. The girl who keeps her purity for her husband only has become the abnormal. The young man who also keeps himself for only his bride is the exception in a society that has come to see intimacy as “it’s just sex.” That is a topic for another time.
The point here is that Christ presents His bride to Himself in the radiant beauty and glory of purity, and they are reserved only for each other throughout all eternity.
That is the way a man is to love his own wife.
