An Outing

Today we went to the Washington Pavilion, which contains a science museum, a couple of art museums, concert hall, IMAX-type theatre, and other attractions.  We watched a movie about great white sharks–most interesting–and then we went to see a display of art quilts.  Oh my.  If you know me, you know that I love quilts and quilting.  These pieces were just wonderful.  And we even got to meet the artist!  Her name is Annie Helmericks-Louder.  You can go here to see some of her work.

We saw a collection of  Toulouse Lautrec as well as some Native American art. Ivan loves storms and all things weather-related, so he was occupied in the science museum with a display about tornadoes.  Kyle tends toward the robotics, which were there in abundance. Alayna?  Flits.  Like a balloon that someone let the air out of, she’s all over the place.

I loved the replica of a T-Rex skeleton. Image

Always have been fascinated by dinosaurs.

It was a good afternoon.  Nice to have Ken home and not having to go back to work tonight.
