Come to Save the Lost

Matthew 18:11. “For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.”

I’ve loved this picture since I was a child and first heard the story of the Good Shepherd who searched and found his one lost sheep. Sometimes, a picture truly is worth more than a thousand words!

There is so much in this one short verse!  Jesus clearly and openly stated that His sole purpose in coming to the earth was to save the lost.  In order to do so, He would have to die.  Tomorrow, we’ll look at the beautiful story He told the disciples in order to help them understand what He must do.

    1. Yes, me too. And it also takes me WAAAAYY back to Sunday School days at the Fourth Baptist Church in Minneapolis. The teacher used flannel graph to tell the story, and I never forgot it.
