A quick one. The foot is progressing slowly. Nothing new happening there. But now it looks like he has the shingles.
Sometimes you just want to hide.

Oh, dear! Perhaps the doctor can give him some good anti-viral medication that will make it less painful for him! Another friend’s husband is going through the same thing now (shingles, not the foot thing), and he’s doing very well with those meds. Praying all will be well quickly!

We actually did get an anti-viral this morning, via the doc calling it in to our pharmacy. We’ll go on Monday to confrim the diagnosis. The doc said the sooner you get the meds, the better.

Toni, he says it’s really not bad. He has a pretty high pain tolerance. God thing!

thinking of you too–is that contagious?

From what I’ve read, it’s contagious as long as the blisters are opening and oozing. He’s keeping his distance from everyone, although the chance that anyone would touch him where the rash is would be pretty remote–along his back at his waistline.

As long as the blisters are breaking and oozing, yes. As far as I’m aware, there has been no direct contact. We’re going to ask about getting the shot tomorrow when we see the doctor.
