Where to go Next?

I’m late with my Friday post today.  Had a chiropractor’s appointment, then ran into a friend at the grocery store–just now getting home.  And I have to admit, I’m not sure where to go next with counseling issues.

So let me ask you, and I truly hope you’ll respond.  Is there a question you’d like help answering?  Is there a problem in your life that has you stopped, and that I could address here? Is there a biblical issue of some sort that you’d like to dig into?  An ethical problem?  Relationship issue?

Help me out here, okay?  I’ve had a very good response to my Friday posts, so I want to continue with them. I’m just not feeling a clear leading from the Lord right now as to my next topic.  I’ve been considering addressing the whole issue of childhood sexual abuse, but I’m feeling a strong check in my spirit about that. It’s a very complex thing, and would require some very plain speaking that may not be appropriate here. I’m praying about the best way to handle it.

Please, let me know what you think.  Thank you :)

  1. Compulsive disorders? I daresay, there are Christians who steal and can’t seem to help themselves; or eating or not eating disorders that seem to be compulsive. Anger management or the opposite–frozen anger that turns to the wish for revenge. Some people have to have everthing thing in place all of the time (drives me nuts!) and teens who have to have an iPod in pocket or hand continuously. I guess most of those are compulsive. What leads to geriactic disorders? My mom started spitting on everyone the last two weeks of her life–what in the world did that? Whatever it was, I don’t want that to be said of me! Is laziness a trait or is it just plain sin? Well, I’ll stop now. Just thinking, since you asked.

  2. Life transitions…and how to handle them gracefully (moving, adjusting to family changes, school/work changes)? Christians and stress? Working women/moms? That would be an interesting topic…sometimes I feel that in Christian circles, it’s harder to find support & role models as a professional Christian woman. I hardly classify myself as a feminist (you know me!) but the topic would be fascinating. Other ideas: how Christians use their money, relationships & money (thinking husbands and wives here)? The “keeping up with the Joneses” philosophy (at home, work, and church)? Spiritual gifts & how to recognize them in others? Friendships (what to look for in a friend & how to be that person to someone else)? I could keep going….:) I do enjoy reading your blog & it has been a special encouragement to me on many occasions. I have referred friends to it many times also.
